While you could spend a year studying Identity Politics and their historical use or some would even say necessity in allowing people to unite around common political causes the fact of the matter is this. They are no longer necessary and in fact are even becoming counterproductive. If we would all put our Individual Identity front and center and before our group identity and force the governments of the world to recognize us as Individuals first, and our group identity tangentially then we would be positioned in a place that would be themost fairfor everyone from the historically marginalized to the historically privileged. If we let identity politics go we all win.
